Continuous Professional Development

AIMS
  • To establish a process of continuous review and professional development for all staff, to improve their performance where necessary
  • To stimulate an improvement in the quality of the many tasks undertaken in school - particularly, but not only, the quality of teaching and learning
  • To explicitly recognise and value each member of staff's contribution to the work of the school
  • To support the existing work of all staff and encourage the acquisition of new skills by staff members
  • To encourage and develop the skills of self-review
  • To assist with identifying and meeting in-service development needs
  • To encourage a sharing of existing expertise and an increase in professional dialogue within the school
  • To stimulate the growth of mutually supportive professional relationships
  • To build relationships that cross the boundaries of departments and hierarchy within the school
  • To create an open, positive climate of mutual trust and respect between all staff.
