Continuous Professional Development

FOLLOW-UP AND REGULAR REVIEWS
In order to monitor the progress being made towards achieving the set targets further meetings, possibly informal in nature, should take place throughout the continuing cycle. Both you and your mentor have a role in ensuring the follow-up meetings are arranged. You may need to consider whether the original targets are still appropriate or need to be revised.
A formal review meeting might take place later in the same year or in the second year of the cycle. Its purpose should be:
  • to review any progress made towards meeting the targets set at the review meeting
  • to consider whether those targets are still relevant or need to be revised
  • to consider the usefulness of any development undertaken
  • to consider your further career development needs.
At the conclusion of any review meeting you and your mentor should complete copies of the feedback sheets provided for your own records and to inform HODs/SMT that the meeting has taken place. Any further development requirements should also be included on these sheets.
