Assessment and Reporting

Great emphasis is placed, throughout the Senior School in particular, on assessment and reporting. A system has been put into place that allows students to assess their own progress on an annual basis, semi-annually in Years 9 and 11. These assessments are discussed with subject teachers, and the outcome is then reviewed by year heads and heads of department.

Progress reports are issued three times a year and more formal reports at the end of each year. The assessment and reporting processes are linked to a planned cycle of parents' evenings which students are also encouraged to attend.

In Primary, Progress reports are issued twice a year and full end of year reports are issued in June. The report timings are carefully planned to coincide with Parent/Teacher meetings in order to provide parents with the fullest information on their daughter’s progress. Assessment in Primary is also used to inform pupils of their individual progress. Pupils reflect and self evaluate their work and set agreed targets for personal improvement..
